さくら(Cherry Blossom)

One of the most representative flowers in Japan is the さくら。さくら, which means cherry blossom in English, is a flower that is closely related to Japan. It appears in numerous works of art, literature, and photography. Even though it is not the official flower of Japan (since Japan doesn't have one), nevertheless the さくら is a flower that is loved by people both inside and outside of Japan.

  2. Cherry Blossoms are pretty. They are actually not uncommon to see in Portland, Oregon.

  4. Supposedly there actually are cherry blossoms on campus (behind Moreau Seminary I believe.) I remember there being tell of a はなみ (cherry blossom viewing)last year so maybe we'll have one this spring!

  6. さくらはとてもきれいです。
    When I used to live in Japan I remember seeing the cherry blossoms everywhere in the spring. I definitely miss that a lot.
